Terre del Marchesato has been owned and run by the Fusilli family since 1954, when Emilio Fusilli, a farmer from the Le Marche, acquired the land and planted the first vines. After him, his son Aldo – together with his own sons, Maurizio and Giancarlo – continued expanding the farm by adding olive groves. However, it was Maurizio, with the help of oenologist Fabrizio Moltard, who transformed the farm’s production into premium wines. An intense passion for wine production and an already well developed knowledge of the field enabled Maurizio lead to the first vintage in 2003 and the construction of a winery and bottling facility on the estate.
The farm produces 3 red wines, all single varietals made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, which in Bolgheri, known as the “Bordeaux” of Tuscany, reach maximum expression. The quality and delicate complexity of these wines has been so great that the wines have completely sold out at every vintage, and the Aldone Merlot, only produced in certain vintages, is extremely sought after and always in extremely short supply! Besides the red wines the farm also produces white wines from the local Vermentino variety, and also the first ever Brandy of Bolgheri.
